Case studies — Augmented reality (AR)

Please welcome another project based on the markerless augmented reality technology — «Man’s first journey into outer space».

This time we used a page from the book «Namedni. Nasha Era. 1961-1970» by Leonid Parfyonov, the one dedicated to Yuri Gagarin’s legendary flight into space.

We turned three illustrations on this page into a single «markerless» augmented reality marker. On this page we placed a 3D model of an old Soviet TV-set common for 1960s.

The TV shows a 5-minute video clip — a memorial of the first human flight into outer space.

Thanks to this technology, a virtual 3D model can now be programmed onto any page of a magazine or a book, any advertising leaflet, package, and indeed almost onto any image!
